Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of common safety hazards andprecautions to establish a safe work environment. Ability to communicateclearly. Ability to maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge oforganizational policies and procedures regarding decontamination ofinstruments, sterilization, universal precautions and various hospitalequipment. Able to monitor quality control throughout the department. Able tointerpret and apply professional guidelines/standards (AAMI/AORN). Skill inidentifying problems and recommending solutions/application of criticalthinking. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Other: Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks quickly in afast-paced environment. Work Demands/Environment: Requires full range of bodymotion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally liftsand carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision andhearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and/orworking irregular hours. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxicsubstances, body fluids and other conditions common to a hospital environment.
Education :
